From the ever-eroding debris of the NYC RNR circuit (or rather circus) and the all-encompassing necessity of making noise to escape the noise, enter BAYAZ. A group formed with the mantra ‘have a good time, all the time’. Comprised of the guitar slinging duo of Mike Dudolevitch (The Nuclears) on Guitar/Vocals, Morgan McDaniel (Mirror Queen, Human Man) on Guitar/Vocals, George Simonds (Human Man) on Bass Guitar and Geoffrey Hug (The Nuclears, Doug Hream Blunt) on Drums/Vocals. Building on their years of shredding with The Nuclears and Mirror Queen, Dudolevitch and McDaniel front a progressive, groove-oriented take on 21st century rock, pulling elements from Judas Priest, Rory Gallagher, and early King Crimson, while Simonds and Hug combine the explosive lower end of Funhouse-era Stooges with the swing of early Black Sabbath. Created behind closed doors during the 2020 pandemic, BAYAZ’s debut album was recorded and mixed at Studio G in Brooklyn by Jeff Berner (Psychic TV, Tony Conrad, Boy George). The record will be released in early 2023 and the band plans to tour extensively to support it, with a planned EP to be released mid-2023.
